Divinity Original Sin 2 Hotbar Mod
UPDATE #1 December 7Larian Studios has provided the first Hotfix for the big patch v3.0.158.595 that broke the game for many people, and will address at least a few of the "most urgent problems" people are now having with the game, most notably with the hotbar. Here's what Larian had to say:"In our enthusiasm to get as many issues fixed as we could in our latest patch, a bug slipped through the net! This hotfix should address the most urgent problems, but we will continue to look into your feedback on the patch. Don't forget to report any issue here on the forums, or contact our support via supportdos2@larian.com and we will do our best to get critical problems out of the way as soon as possible."I think they're joking about the singular "a bug" part. We've got the full Patch Notes for Divinity Original Sin 2 here, but as we're nice and the Hotfix is only for a few issues here are the things Larian have corrected so far:Fixed an issue making items used via the hotbar cost an incorrect amount of AP
Fixed a problem regarding destroyed visuals reappearing when loading a savegame from the previous patch
Fixed context menu in GM character management panel
Fixed a crash related to split-screen in character creation
Fixed a visual problem related to split-screen when using the magic mirror
At least that's the hotbar one sorted out. Hopefully the rest will be fixed in due course. Original Story:Yesterday, a massive patch dropped on Divinity: Original Sin 2. Unfortunately, it seems to have broken the game more than fixed it.Okay, that's hyperbole -- it fixed a boatload of stuff, but it did broke some others quite severely. Specifically, the hotbar, the skills, the journal, the health bar, the abilities, a couple of scrolls, and most weapons. Phew.Divinity: Original Sin 2 Patch NotesCommunity Claims Latest Divinity Original Sin 2 Patch Breaks Mods and Adds Bugs (Yep, this happened before) As several threads on Reddit indicate, the latest patch from Larian Studios introduced several new issues that were previously nonexistent. Besides technical issues like characters not fully healing, more severe bugs are cropping their heads up, like the game crashing to desktop when opening the journal. One of the most hard-hitting bugs, however, prevents players from using the hotbar. Given Divinity is an old-school RPG, the hotbar is virtually the most important element of the UI -- without it, players are unable to cast spells, read scrolls, use items, or even fire arrows. As a result, Divinity 2 is currently unplayable for some.Hopefully, this is all rather temporary. Larian is a capable developer and clearly cares about their products, so it's hard to imagine they are not running around like headless rabbits fixing the game as we speak. We'll update this as it develops.Related Games: Divinity: Original Sin 2About Marcello PerriconePassionate, handsome, and just a tiny bit cocky, our resident Time Lord loves history, science, and all things that fall from the sky.
Updated October 15, 2021 by Erik Petrovich: Divinity: Original Sin 2 continues to prove that it's one of the best RPGs ever made more than four years after its original release. Expanding on many of the gameplay and story elements of the first game, Divinity 2 pushes the envelope in terms of customization and a player-driven narrative. It's important for players new to the game to take things slow and experience it as Divinity 2 was originally intended: that means no enabling Gift Bags for a while. Additionally, being effective in combat is not just limited to characters currently in the fight, as there are a lot of things players can do to give themselves the advantage before an encounter even starts.
The nice thing about this game is that it lets people make an original character if none of the main heroes appeal to them. There are countless options to choose from in terms of abilities and classes, and it might be super tempting to mix and match a bunch of cool skills from different classes.
The first thing to notice in the game is the hotbar located at the bottom of the screen. While in combat, players can always access their inventory; it really makes things much easier if you have everything placed on the hotbar and ready to go when entering combat mode.
Even the most meaningless things can be surprisingly useful and therefore worth putting into the hotbar, including drinks like orange juice or even a loaf of bread which provide small boosts during combat. One of the best items in the game is a simple bedroll, which can be used after a fight to heal without wasting consumable items.
There are wholly unique quests that you will miss out on entirely without the "Pet Pal" skill. In the original version of the game, you had to expend a point on it. In the Definite Edition, players can have it enabled without wasting a point.
What of the patch itself? Well, quality of life improvements appear to be high up the list of changes. You can now switch off the automatic addition of skills and items to the Divinity: Original Sin 2 hotbar. Lucky Charm now applies to every character in the party (not just the one person who has that talent). Plus, lockpicks and trap disarming kits are shared among all party members via Magic Pockets.
The health bar above the hotbar now shows its values at all times (you needn't hover over it anymore), and the Physical/Magic Armor text is removed to improve readability. Additionally, it now features dividers every 4 AP, making it easier to see at a quick glance how much AP you've got left. It now also shows your maximum SP, and the AP/SP indicators are properly centered. Its graphics have also been improved, with the AP bar being easier to read thanks to a dropshadow.
The buttons next to the portrait are now customizable; when your hotbar is unlocked, you can drag and drop to rearrange them. Additionally, mods can add their own "actions" there, and there are a few new built-in ones. You can press the middle mouse button to unbind them.
The purpose of the action bar is to provide a centralized place for modders to add shortcuts/hotkeys to their interfaces or features, eliminating the need for interactable books that clutter your inventory and freeing up space on the hotbar.
Right-click a row on the hotbar to bring up a context menu where you can "push" groups of slots around (great for inserting spells inbetween!), clear unmemorized spells, or save "loadouts" to restore your hotbars in later playthroughs. 2ff7e9595c
